Latest Inglot haul ;D Pics + swatches!

I know, I know...I am flat out obsessed with Inglot Cosmetics. I received my recent haul today & purchased some of the other items they offer. Don't get me wrong, the Freedom system is amazing, so affordable & really nice for those who like to custom order their palettes. I just wanted to try some of their other products to see if they're worth branching out for.

First, their lipstick. I only purchased one shade because I wanted to see just how accurate their online swatches are. I purchased #414, a matte lipstick that looked like a soft baby pink on the website. While the lipstick is pretty matte (I would compare it to a MAC satin lipstick) the colour was just awful. In the tube it looks pretty nice, but on my lips....YUUUUCK. It came out as a powdery-white lilac that was not flattering on me in the least. It was pretty difficult to photograph it on my lips, so I will try again when I'm able to take pictures in natural light. I do want to try their cream lipsticks, though, in hopes that I won't be so disappointed.

Next up, their pigments. These are listed on their website as AMC Pure Pigment Eyeshadow, AMC standing for 'Advanced Makeup Components' which I am still researching further into. These are 2 g/0.07 ounces for $14.00 USD. Old MAC pigments are 7.5 g/.26 ounces & new MAC pigments are 4.5g/0.15 ounces...so when you calculate it out, Inglots pigments are rather pricey.

MMMMM. These are so fluffy! Hahah, fluffy, easy to apply & SO vibrant! These are each two swipes of pigment over NYX Milk eye pencil. That blue...wow. I'm working on Inglot dupes next & I'm pretty sure if you've been searching for MAC RebelRock Blue, you've found your match!

I also purchased some eyeshadows that aren't available in the Freedom system. These were $12 USD a piece & are 2.5 g/ 0.09 ounces. MAC regular eyeshadows are 1.5 g/0.05 ounces, MAC mineralized eyeshadows are 2.2 g/0.07 ounces & the MAC Mega Metal eyeshadows are 3.4 g/0.11 ounces. Inglot's full sized eyeshadow are an awesome deal when you calculate out the difference. I've noticed on the website, though, that not all the Freedom colours are listed as full eyeshadows. I sifted through the full sized shadows & chose a few that aren't available through the Freedom system.

I also ordered a full AMC eyeshadow without realizing I already owned it :P Woops! Eyeshadow is #59, I didn't swatch it because I already have before.

& Of course, I ordered more Freedom shadows as well as a 5 pan. :D

We all know I love these by now, no review necessary, hahah!

I hope you enjoyed this post, it took forever to photograph! I've got one more haul on it's way to me (eyeliners & of course, more Freedom goodies) and after that I will get started on a duplicates post! I'm going to go through ALL my makeup & compare as much as I can.

I'll also be doing a giveaway this Friday, so be sure to check out my blog for that! :D

K, passing out now ;D!

Smokey purple FOTD

Another Inglot FOTD ;D!! I really, really liked this a lot. I am a huge fan of purples & have always thought it did wonders for my eyes. While I am definitely more comfortable doing green eyeshadow looks, purples are probably my favourite to do.

Since I couldn't sleep for anything last night, I stayed up & put some makeup on ;D I actually spent quite a while doing this look. By the time everything was applied, I was so ready to crash :P I reshaped my brows for the bazillionth time & thought they went well with this type of look (dramatic, nearly harsh brows.)

ch-ch-ch-changes

Hi everyone! Just wanted to post a quick note letting you all know the layout & other parts of the blog are going to be changing over the next day or so. I'm working on figuring out/familiarizing myself with blogspots HTML coding, so that I can make this more personal :) I made a background image, but I see that it hardly shows up :P So you might be seeing a lot of stuff change, disappear, reappear, etc.

Also! It looks like we're getting closer to the next giveaway! Soooo excited :D I've also got a nail polish give away that I'm working on, too!

& As always, thank you SO much for your support! I am so happy to be sharing my love for makeup with you all! <3

MAC Quite Cute; Quite boring, really.

Stopped by my local MAC counter to check out the new Quite Cute collection & what a snooze! Nothing to me really stood out. It's definitely a collection of pastel, spring-y colours that, in my opinion, are better suited for pre-teens who are adventuring into makeup. I had slight interest in the quad, but lost it all once I saw it in person. The lipsticks didn't interest me in the slightest, though I'm surprised I walked away with Saint Germain...total impulse buy.

The blushes were pretty cute, though. But the colours in them just seemed odd. I picked up Sakura, which I actually like a lot. I eyed one of the other ones, but it was just too orange for my liking. I passed on the nail polishes, as I find MAC polishes to be way too runny. /sigh

So, here's my tiny little haul of Sakura mineralized blush & Saint Germain lipstick. I also picked up Pro Longwear foundation as I keep hearing it's really awesome for oily skin, can't wait to try it!

The first swatch is the blush outside the heart, then the heart & then both mixed. The last photo is in natural light.

The blush I am actually liking a lot. It's definitely cool toned & gives off a really nice colour when mixed. Considering it is a mineralized product, it really didn't come off as being too shiny like MAC mineralized products generally do :P Thank goodness...I already ignore my MSF's enough because they make me look like a glitterball. But this was quite nice. Was an eensy bit sheer (especially just the heart alone) but was build-able & soft. I would suggest a brush like the #187 for this, so you can mix the colours together nicely. I generally use the #168 for blush, but found I didn't achieve the true mixed colour when I used it.

Saint Germain is a repromote from Sugarsweet (I think it was a year or two ago?) I passed it up then & am wondering why I didn't do the same now :P It photographed purple-y on my lips, but it is definitely VERY pink. For my incredibly light skin tone, this lipstick is ALL wrong.

Overall, this collection is HIGHLY passable. Very, very boring.

Oh well! More moniez for Inglot ;D

FOTDDDDDDEEEEEEEE!

The look I'm sharing with you today is one that I've recently fallen in love with. I was partially inspired by Alaina Beaton/Porcelain Black/Porcelain & The Tramps to do the holy-smokes! liner & red lips for this. This look started out as my typical 'what I wear to work' look. I've been forcing myself to put all this makeup to good use & have been making sure I don't roll outta bed & show up to work :P After I got home, I was so happy that it all stayed in place, so I decided to vamp it up a bit :D I posted a couple pics to MUA as I typically do when I like a look I do & logged on to quite a few messages asking about it! I'm generally not a fan of winged liner, so it's very rare that I even do it. But I wanted to take it to the extreme (for my tastes, anyway) and just go with my gut! I was super pleased with the outcome & now I will stop talking and show you ;D

As someone who rarely does red lips on top of this type of liner, it felt good to step outside of my normal boundaries. I also re-contoured my entire face for the look as well, though it's more difficult to see because I rarely actually contour my face :P I'll explain more of that later.

After a couple pics with the red lips, I decided to change it up & try something a little softer...

Super rad Sora figurine FTW!!! XD

I think I prefer the softer lips better....probably because I am a hussy for pink/neutral lips & like I said, red is something I seldom do.

So here's what I did & what I used from the start!

First, I applied my foundation, but mixed it with a white face paint as well. After that was applied, I set it with Ben Nye White pressed shadow & rice powder. I essentially wanted to make my own features less apparent so I could re-contour my face. I used a dark Cover Girl powder to contour as well as a medium toned powder to soften the contours. I focused mainly on the hollows of the cheeks & the jawline, with some gentle contouring on the nose. For the first set of photos, I used Physicians Formula Light Bronze bronze booster on the apples of the cheeks. For the second set, I used the Physicians Formula Happy Booster blush in Rose (OMGLOVE<3) as well as an eeensy bit of Urban Decay Quickie blush.

Eyes...wow. Lots on the eyes. MAC Paint pot in Painterly & NYX White eyshadow base. I used all Inglot eyeshadows & if you REAAALLLLY want to know which, then I will pop them out & list them. But I just created a basic neutral eye. An off-white, creamy eyeshadow for the lid. A soft brown on the crease. A light, golden brown above the crease. A matte, off-white shadow to highlight & a matte white right under the brows.

Then using the tip of a rounded, but flat brush, I built up the crease using a really dark brown eyeshadow. I did the same technique with a blackened brown eyeshadow on the outer crease, to add definition. The liner was pretty messy, I was surprised it photographed well :P But I used Revlon liquid liner & just kept building it up. I used the end of my brow as a guideline for the wing & just tried to imagine a line going from the end of my brow across my eye (it was tricky & the liner was kinda goopy!) I also used black shadow to set the liner. I kept the lower lash line free of shadow/liner so I could add more emphasis to the overall super-winged look ;D Lashes used are Demi-Wispies (favourite!) and I plopped on lots of mascara to help the lashes blend in.

The lips for the first set were Ben Nye Marilyn Red lipstick with Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics NSFW lip tar, which stained the crap outta my lip brush. It's a little obvious that I attempted to over-line the edges of my lips & after a while, I thought it looked terrible so I wiped it all off. That's what I get for not using lip liner :P The second set of lips was MAC Viva Glam Gaga lipstick with MAC Zazoom lipglass, which is probably my favourite pink combination of all time. I felt this made everything look a lot better. They say the "rule" is to keep lips neutral when doing bold eyes, but F the rules! While I personally prefer the softer lips, the red ones were still fun!

All right! So there you have it XD I had sooo much fun doing this. And I felt pretty comfortable with it as well, despite it being out of my ordinary. I definitely want to work more on the liner...what are your favourite liquid liners? I really need a new one!

More Inglot, again ;D! LOTS of pictures

Right before I went on vacation, I placed an order for 30 more Inglot eyeshadows. Maybe it was the fact that I wasn't at home anxiously awaiting these, but I feel this order went much smoother than my last. I had nothing on backorder & my items were processed and shipped within a very timely manner. I think that they were slammed pretty hard when the online store opened & I really feel like they're getting back on track. My first order was a breeze, but my second was kind of a pain. I will say that every email response I received was more than polite & they fixed their errors quickly.

I'm also super happy at how inexpensive this makeup is. I ordered 30 freedom shadows, a 20 pan palette & a 10 pan palette for $145 total. The palettes are discounted when you buy eyeshadows & I also got free regular shipping, which is always a plus. I'm placing another order soon once I figure out my monthly budget & am expanding into their pigments & gel liners.

Anyway, here's 30 more swatches :D Some are duplicates from previous posts because I ordered 3 shadows I already owned, oops. I typed out everything I own for future reference, since getting the shadows out of the pan can be a pain. I've figured out a way of doing it, but I almost split/broke an eyeshadow, so I'm going to keep toying around with them.

Photos are pretty huge so you can get better detail. All shadows were swatched over NYX Milk eyeshadow pencil!

Obsessssssssed! I can't wait to try their pigments. I also read that not all of their eyeshadows are available in the freedom system, so I'm going to go through those & see if I'm missing anything good. Can't wait for more!

Happy weekend everyone! I'll hopefully get to posting some EOTD's later on :D
